Wicked Candied Bacon

DESCRIPTION

Wicked Candied Bacon is the perfect balance of sweet, smoky, and spicy, transforming thick-cut bacon into an irresistible appetizer, brunch favorite, or gourmet topping. Coated with rich honey and generously seasoned with Spicelopedia® Wicked BBQ, each slice caramelizes as it bakes, creating a crispy, sticky glaze with layers of smoky barbecue flavor and a subtle kick of heat. Serve it on its own, pair it with breakfast classics, or crumble it over burgers, salads, and baked potatoes for a bold burst of sweet-and-spicy flavor.

INGREDIENTS

Servings: 50–60 slices
Thick-cut bacon (10–12 slices per pound) 5 lbs.
Honey ½ cup
Spicelopedia® Wicked BBQ Seasoning ½ cup

STEPS

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Brush both sides of each slice of thick-cut bacon with honey.
  3. Season both sides generously with Spicelopedia® Wicked BBQ Seasoning.
  4. Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer on a wire rack set over a foil-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Carefully remove the bacon from the oven, flip each slice over, and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the bacon is caramelized and crisp.
  7. Allow the bacon to cool for several minutes before handling, as the glaze will be hot and sticky.
  8. Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
