Wicked Candied Bacon
DESCRIPTION
Wicked Candied Bacon is the perfect balance of sweet, smoky, and spicy, transforming thick-cut bacon into an irresistible appetizer, brunch favorite, or gourmet topping. Coated with rich honey and generously seasoned with Spicelopedia® Wicked BBQ, each slice caramelizes as it bakes, creating a crispy, sticky glaze with layers of smoky barbecue flavor and a subtle kick of heat. Serve it on its own, pair it with breakfast classics, or crumble it over burgers, salads, and baked potatoes for a bold burst of sweet-and-spicy flavor.
INGREDIENTS
Servings: 50–60 slices| Thick-cut bacon (10–12 slices per pound) | 5 lbs. |
| Honey | ½ cup |
| Spicelopedia® Wicked BBQ Seasoning | ½ cup |
STEPS
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Brush both sides of each slice of thick-cut bacon with honey.
- Season both sides generously with Spicelopedia® Wicked BBQ Seasoning.
- Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer on a wire rack set over a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Carefully remove the bacon from the oven, flip each slice over, and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the bacon is caramelized and crisp.
- Allow the bacon to cool for several minutes before handling, as the glaze will be hot and sticky.
- Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
