Chili Lime Seared Ahi Tuna

 
 

INGREDIENTS

Approx. Yield: 2 tuna steaks
Ahi or yellowfin tuna steaks 2 steaks
Spicelopedia™ Chili Lime Adobo seasoning 2 tsp + 2 tsp
Thai-style chili sauce 2 Tbsp
Soy sauce 2 Tbsp
Olive oil 2 Tbsp + 3 Tbsp
Fresh cilantro, chopped 2 Tbsp

STEPS

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together 2 tsp Spicelopedia Chili Lime Adobo seasoning, Thai-style chili sauce, soy sauce, and 3 Tbsp olive oil. Add tuna steaks and coat all sides well. Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes.
  2. Heat a 10–12 inch skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add 3 Tbsp olive oil.
  3. Remove tuna from marinade and coat both sides evenly with remaining 2 tsp Spicelopedia Chili Lime Adobo seasoning.
  4. Sear tuna on one side for 3 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches approximately 115°F.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped cilantro.
