Cajun Shrimp and Sausage

DESCRIPTION

This Summer Shrimp and Sausage Skillet is a bold, flavorful dish built around smoky, spicy Cajun-inspired seasoning. Shrimp and sausage are cooked to perfection with Spicelopedia® Rajun Cajun with Carolina Reaper, delivering a deep, fiery flavor that’s balanced by savory, comforting ingredients. Versatile and easy to serve, it works just as well on its own as it does over pasta, rice, or zucchini noodles. For an extra boost of freshness, add sliced zucchini or baby spinach. This is a simple, satisfying skillet meal with a Louisiana-inspired kick.

INGREDIENTS

Servings: 4
Jumbo shrimp, fresh or frozen, shelled and deveined 20 pieces
Spicelopedia® Rajun Cajun seasoning 1 Tbsp.
Andouille sausage, sliced 12 oz.
Red bell pepper, sliced ½ cup
Sweet onion, sliced ¼ cup
Diced tomatoes with green chiles (hot or mild) 10 oz.
Heavy cream ¼ cup
Butter, cut into chunks (optional but recommended) 2 Tbsp.

STEPS

  1. Toss the shrimp with the Spicelopedia® Rajun Cajun seasoning until evenly coated and set aside.
  2. Add the sliced Andouille sausage to a heavy skillet over medium heat and cook until lightly browned.
  3. Add the seasoned shrimp, red bell pepper, and sweet onion to the skillet. Sauté until the shrimp is nearly cooked through and the vegetables have softened.

  5. Add the butter and continue to simmer, stirring gently, until the sauce thickens and becomes rich and glossy.
